How do you teach complex sentences?

Construction of simple sentences

Synthetic methods: This refers to methods that start from the simplest elements to arrive at the most complex units, i.e. they begin with the study of letters, then combine them to form syllables, and later unite them to compose words, phrases or sentences.

It integrates the best of the analytical and synthetic methods, based on the premise that it is important that the student understands the text globally, but at the same time must exercise the basic aspects of writing. This method is also characterized by taking into consideration the characteristics of the students and by working on reading and writing simultaneously.

This context forces us to rethink the exercise of teaching and training. How to incorporate technologies into educational practice without the tool becoming an end in itself and losing sight of the pedagogical objective? How to think of tasks with pedagogical intent? What practices do we want to continue doing and which ones need to be changed?

This is an opportunity, a singular experience, to learn how to transmit this human knowledge without flooding, overflowing with slogans in order to comply with the program/curriculum. We should position ourselves less in the place of demanding and more in stopping to think about what we do and with what objectives. How do teachers and students look at each other? Do we build a “we” in this situation of health emergency?

These are sentences created from two clauses that follow the same basic structure, but this is placed twice and can be separated using conjunctions, some of these are: and, so, but, because and since.

In this chapter, an option is made so that the selection criteria of the educational contents allow students to have the clearest possible idea of historical and geographical knowledge, considering their autonomy and entity as the main structuring sciences of social contents. This is incompatible, on the one hand, with the simple memorization of data or theories, and on the other, using them as auxiliary knowledge.

At the primary and secondary school levels, social sciences are part of the school curriculum. Generally, under this denomination, contents related to History, Geography, some anthropology and a little definable conglomerate of questions related to civic formation, politics, economy and academic tourism are included. This means that the term Social Sciences is being used as a catch-all that encompasses educational content but that in many cases does not have a clear disciplinary reference and, in others, mixes diverse information from these sciences.
