In 2017 the offers were evenly distributed during the week, with a slight increase in publication on Mondays and Tuesdays. During 2018 the trend changed, and the day that most offers are published are Fridays. In fact the percentage of posting on this day increased by 3% over 2017, and it appears that this trend is continuing into early 2019.

One of the factors for this increase in offers on Fridays, is because of the mistaken belief that candidates come in to look for jobs on weekends, that is, “in their free time”. However, nothing could be further from the truth.

If I want to hire someone for a position, I’d rather hire someone with some direct reference than hire an unknown. It seems to me the most normal thing in the world. Exactly. The problem is that before it was more complicated to locate the profiles sought with direct references and more ads were published. Now, with technology and digital professional networks it is much easier to reach referenced professionals so there is no need to publish ads open to everyone. This will increase more and more and there is nothing wrong with it, in my opinion.
